Ben Shapiro Goes Whole Day Without Tweeting About Ocasio-Cortez

Conservative thought leader Ben Shapiro had a notable accomplishment today: that so little was going on in US political news he forgot to make his daily post on the activities of newly elected Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He posted in a now deleted series of tweets his astonishment of not having anything posted about Cortez the day prior.

The tweets then began to take an odd turn, for it seemed that Shapiro may be paying more attention to the New Yorker outside of her political events.

This nugget of information came from Ocasio-Cortez’s interview with Bon Appetit, where they dove into the politician’s life before the election. Shapiro previously only seemed to acknowledge her job as a bartender as a strike against her qualifications for office, so this reference may suggest that he pays more close attention than expected. His next tweet may confirm that he follows her even outside non-political news articles.

The tweets were deleted within an hour of this last one. When the press reached out to the Daily Wire Editor, he vehemently denied that he had posted those tweets. “Someone from my staff must have been playing a joke on me,” he stated “like why would I care if she eats pastrami tacos without guacamole, even though guacamole would make that dish much better.”

He continued to defend himself by stating “I’ve explained many times that I only covered Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the newly elected Democrats because they are being touted as the fresh new faces of the DNC, so I feel obligated to address them.”
